Carlos Echenique is a photographer with wide-ranging tastes – conceptual portraits, cinematic portraits, landscapes, and travel just to name a few. His works have been on display at the Coral Gables Museum, the Futurama Galleries, and the Miami-Dade Public Library. His photos have been published in Art District News and was the cover article on the December 2018 issue of The Linux Journal. He was an official photographer for the International Ballet Festival, the University of Miami Frost School of Music, as well as the artist group 7 plus 1. He has taught photography to middle school children and adults for over five years. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science and a Master’s of Science in Management of Information Systems. He is a self-taught photographer who started at age 12.

I have settled on Fuji as my camera brand of choice and I currently sport two kits:
walkabout kit
My “walkabout kit” (left image above) is what I use every day. It consists of the following equipment:

- Sigma 56mm f/1.4 DC DN
- Godox TT350F Speedlight (not pictured)
I usually decide on one lens for the day and pop the camera, lens and flash in my trusty Copper River Vintage Safari 10″ Satchel bag. The kit is light enough that I can haul it around with me all day long and not send me to the chiropractor. This kit is used for short trips as well.
travel kit
My ‘travel kit” (right image above) is what I use when I go on long trips and vacations. It is bigger and heavier but is a lot more flexible in terms of lenses and such. It is also the kit I use for occasional studio work.
